Franz Josef is five and a half hours drive from Christchurch or Queenstown.The rooms are very nicely decorated and are about 35 square metres. The bathrooms have under floor heating and two of the suites have a large separate French bath. The remaining suites all have a large walk in shower. Rooms can be super king or twin single beds. All rooms are on ground floor level and there is a wheel chair accessible suite. Rooms have polished wood walls and there is a lounge sofa area in each room. There is direct access to covered patio seating.There is no restaurant on site. Breakfast is served in the main lodge communal lounge and relaxation area.A single storey building predominantly of wood. Set within fantastic countryside views to the mountains are uninterrupted.A small functional lobby just inside the main lodge building.
